"Evan Almighty" - Pretty funny, alrighty!
June 29, 2007 in FilmI just saw the movie, Evan Almighty - and it was cute! Steve Carrel is pretty hysterical. All the animals were amazing - I don't know how they did it - but it all looked very real. I found it as art inspiration too - I love doing Noah's Ark art and this got me inspired to work on a new group.

I have to say, going to the movies has become my favorite passive hobby! A few weeks ago I saw "Waitress" with Keri Russell and Andy Griffith. It was a great independent film. Sometimes those smaller movies (vs. block-buster) can be so refreshing.
Oh, andYikes!, I saw "Mr. Brooks" with Kevin Costner. It was a lot more graphic than I was anticipating. I had to cover my eyes a lot. Although one of the guys in our group thought it was the best flick he'd seen all year. I haven't seen Ocean's 13 yet - but I can't wait.
Seen anything good lately? Would love to hear your recommendations or reviews.

I haven't been to the movies in 6 months but two movies I really liked on DVD were "The Guardian" with Kevin Costner and "Freedom Writers" with Hillary Swank. Thanks for the review on Evan Almighty, maybe I can talk my hubby of 34 years to take me on a date. Your animals are darling too!

I also saw and liked Evan Almighty. I thought it was going to be the same as Bruce Almighty but it had a cute plot. I actually saw it at the drive in last night with Knocked Up. The story wasn't so bad, but the excessive swearing turned me right off.
Can't wait to see the new work Debbie!

Oh, we just took our 13 year old daughter to see Nancy Drew.
I was an avid reader of ND when I was a young girl myself...It was REFRESHING to not have to cover my ears or eyes because of "questionable" scenes. It was VERY enjoyable...so much so we are planning a "Sleuthing Nancy Drew Birthday Party" for her in July...she'll be 14...she is developmentally delayed so it is perfect for her....GREAT movie , Family friendly!!!! A definite must see for the summer!

Thanks for your movie reviews - it's great to hear about other good movies. I still haven't seen Ocean's 13. Looking forward to that one. D
