The good life!

January 17, 2007 in Well-Being

There are some things that I do, experience, or receive that are reminders to me that I'm living the good life.  Hand's-down Number One indicator that I lead the good life is to be able to have someone come in and clean my house for me.  My ship would sink without that - since I've had my memory swiped clean Spa_day- and I have no recollection of how to vacuum or clean the toilet.

Another indication of the "good life" was last weekend.  My good friend JoAnn and I had a couple treatments done at our local Zi Spa (located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) just about 45 minutes from home.  The day had come for our treatments and we were soImg_0236for_blog_1 excited.  First of all you get to put on these warm and oh-so-cozy robes to wear.  You head down to the Zen room to lounge in reclining chairs, drink tea (or wine) and enjoy the fire and soothing music.  I started out with a facial - she put all kinds of yummy smelling stuff on my face.  It's nice because you also get a little neck and arm massage too.  I noticed a positive change in my skin - plus, I was starting to feel more relaxed.  That is the other major benefit to spa time.

Next I went for a soak.  The Tub room was lovely with a very zen-like ambiance, nice music, and  candles.  The Tub has a contant overflow, so the water is always up around your neck (where I need  it most).  The aromatherapy and ingredients in the soak were all meant to bring some relief to sore muscles and joints.  I heard the "knock, knock" on the door - I couldn't believe it was already time to get out. I did not want to get out of the tub - not no way!!  But at least my heated robe awaited for me.  Back to the Zen room where I ordered a yummy (healthy too) salad and tea and hung out enjoying the environment for another hour.

Awwww........the good life.  (No complaints, here.)

Hooowww relaxing is that! What a great way to spend a day.
I used to do the hot springs when I lived in Missoula, nothing is more fun in the dead of winter w/tons of snow. Ummmm I am remembering it now!

I totally agree about having someone in to clean the house. It is a real luxury, but wow, it gives me my weekend back! The last time I went to the hairdresser I was so tired that when she shampooed my hair and massaged my scalp, I nearly fell asleep! I felt great and it was only a hair cut.

Wow that sounds fantastic, I had my first pedicure last year and I felt that special afterwards, I can only imagine what an entire day at a spa feels like.

Ladies - Recently I got a reminder in one of the comments to be kind to myself - that was a good reminder to me and to all of us - maybe you ladies who are ready for a little of the good life might think about scheduling a day to spend however you like......I bet most of our "loved ones" would support that! D

Hello Debbie

It is nice to see you taking some me time!!!! I would love to do a spa (oh... it will happen one day) but to be able to pay a house cleaner now that is a dream... I wish... but I do think I am so lucky to be able to sew and scrap at least once a month (my me time) and to have your lovely fabric and scrapping stuff to work with.. So guess we all have different things to aim for.. Stay happy and enjoy life

kind regards Lucy xoxox

Dear Debbie,

I am trying to find the Debbie Mumm 2007 Engagement Calendar in my country, Singapore but to no avail.

Sorry to enquire about this on your comment column.

What is the fastest way to obtain one as I want to give a copy to a very dear friend who has been using the Calendar for the past two years. This year she failed to find one in Singapore.

I hope to give her by end January. :(

I hesitate to buy a copy online as the taxes and shipping cost are really expensive.

Please advise.

My friend and I enjoy pedicures so much that we schedule one every 4 to 6 weeks. We make a friends morning! We go out for breakfast and then bring some fancy coffee with us to the salon. Then we enjoy 1 hour of pure heaven and get out winter feet all cute!! We sit and chat for the whole hour. It is a really fun way to spend some quality time with a great friend!

Wow that is so great...I've always wanted to treat myself and my mother something like that...It is so body relaxing, and mind boosting to treat your self something like this sometimes...

But anyway, may other alternative is that, taking a bath with Lavender Essential Oils..It's not the same as what they did to some spa clinic. But it sure helps.
